Experience History: 4D Pedagogy Instead of Information Boards

In the era-themed worlds of the Deutschlandmuseum, school classes explore German history with all their senses.

  • Multisensory: We employ haptic and olfactory effects, among others, to anchor historical knowledge emotionally. Students smell the forest of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest and feel the cramped confines of a medieval castle. This makes the visit an ideal complement to history lessons and a highlight of any class trip to Berlin.
  • Didactic: This captivating journey through time was developed by historians and museum educators. The goal: to transform standard educational material into a 4D experience.
  • Interactive & award-winning: Instead of reading lengthy information panels, classes solve criminal cases from the Weimar Republic or operate a historic printing press to create their own bookmarks. The Deutschlandmuseum has already received several awards for its unique educational concept.
