The Deutschlandmuseum was the first museum in Germany to receive the international THEA Award for its unique concept.
The THEA Award, which has been presented by the Themed Entertainment Association since 1994, is an international prize awarded to institutions and companies in the leisure industry.

Great format for delivering the German Story. Very interactive and immersive. The only thing missing are smells. Highly recommend, especially for tourists.

Das Museum ist übersichtlich gestaltet und bietet viele interaktive Möglichkeiten. Der Rundgang ist, gem. Webseite für eine Dauer von einer Stunde konzipiert. If you want to know more in dept about certain subjects then you have to go to the cold war, Jewish etc. museum. It is lovely decorated and very kids friendly. This experience sets the bar very high for other "museums" in getting information over to its audience. The use of digital screens within dioramas is very clever with a lot of attention to detail such as a girl flicking her skirt in a joisting scene or sweets being dropped on little parachutes from a raisen bomber during the Berlin Airlift scene for example. Very interactive with plenty to engage the public. From the year dot to Roman to Holy Roman Empire to Reunification and most points in between. Highlight for me was the WW1 trench scenes and for the wife was printing her bookmark on Gutenburg's press. In with the dioramas and IT are exhibits such as an executioners sword and WW1 munitions for example. Quiet when we visited so took our time interacting with every exhibit.
